We have returned to the Q2 design for a new revision after the recent QFT version.
This revision incorporates the BLENDED-WING profile into the Q2 design. This has resulted in a dramatic improvement in the performance of this fin while also enhancing its versatility. The version of the BLENDED-WING that was used on this design is a refinement of the general concept of the profile. The bend is a little more subtle on the outside while maintaining the angle on the inside face.
The outline has changed slightly to give it a more distinctive cutaway for a slight improvement in turning ability. This change also facilitates the machining process at the base. The base is thicker than the original version of the Q2 for an improved foil. Additionally, the inside HOLOFOILS have been enhanced to better complement the BLENDED-WING.
This new revision is undergoing testing at the moment, and so far everything is looking very promising. This is clearly going to make a big difference when compared to the original design.
As we get more testing done, we will be reporting back on progress. The plan is to get this fin into production by next winter.
